If I find something entertaining, it will get posted here, hence the title "What Entertains Me". And yes, I'm very sarcastic, so get over that before you read it. Anything from television, politics, weather, food, music...anything that strikes me as funny will be discussed.

Gifts Galore
One of the gifts on my cousin's wedding registry was some luggage, very nice luggage actually. And they got it, along with the LCD television they said was their "what the heck?" registry item. Lucky for them, my cousin has a very generous aunt, because she took them to get it while we were there. Now, the television they had was this thing you had to hit to get it to work, so they really did need a new one. I don't need a new one, but I want an HDTV in the worst way possible. I am such a geek when it comes to new technology. I suppose there are some who are worse than I am, but not many. Maybe if my tax refund is big enough...that's what I'll get with it, an LCD that's at least 26", probably 32" in width. Here's hoping...

The Joys of PC Repair
A friend of mine just needed some power supply repair on her PC. Wish she'd told me, because my ex is pretty good with fixing stuff like that. Apparently her fan quit, and then it overheated...almost destroyed the whole computer, from what I understand. But she took it in to have it fixed, and they charged her an arm and a leg for what's actually very simple...at least my ex says it is. I wouldn't touch a PC power supply system. Of course, I used to say that about PC memory, but I'm an old pro at that now. Oh well, if it happens again, I've told her to tell me so she can save herself some cash...a

Second Life: A Memory Hog, Indeed
My computer isn't that old, but in order to run Second Life, I've had to upgrade my computer memory to 1 GB so that I can have it and maybe one other application running. Last night, I think I tested the limits of my PC by having SL and two other applications open. Got a virtual memory warning! EEK! Yeah, it's not the blue screen of death or anything, but I never like getting warnings of any sort on my PC. And I've been told that Windows Vista is also a memory hog...so maybe I'll need to go up to 2 GB when I upgrade from XP to that (after the first service pack...need the first bugs worked out).
